Billie Eilish responded to backlash from Taylor Swift fans, clarifying her recent comments that seemed to criticize Swift's environmental practices.

In an Instagram story, Eilish addressed the issue, urging people to read her Billboard interview accurately before jumping to conclusions. She emphasized that her concerns were not directed at any specific artist but rather at systemic issues within the industry. Eilish admitted her own involvement in releasing multiple vinyl versions of her records, stating it was part of a wider industry practice.

The controversy arose from Eilish's remarks in the Billboard article, where she criticized the trend of artists releasing numerous vinyl variants to boost sales. She expressed frustration at the wastefulness of this practice, particularly in an era where sustainability is crucial. Eilish highlighted the contradiction between artists claiming to be environmentally conscious while engaging in such practices.

Swift, known for offering multiple versions of her albums, including eight for "Folklore" and four for "Midnights," was indirectly referenced in Eilish's comments, along with other artists like Olivia Rodrigo and Ariana Grande.

Eilish's remarks stirred controversy among Swift's fans, known as Swifties, who were not pleased with her critique.
